Space Engineers
Is space engineer like minecraft but in space
i think yes because you go around and look for item and bulid thing and you can also build stuff in creative mode.

kinda but its also quite different, considering the guns. and the engines. and basically alot of the features :-)
No, its different. The only similar thing is that you build things using blocks but then thats only ONE square block. In the game we hve Wedge blocks, corner blocks, Inverted Corner Blocks. So No it is not "Minecraft in space"
Same basic concept of building but the mechanics are quite different.
It's Minecraft, but with Physics, essentially. Don't get me wrong, it's the not the same exact thing, but, as someone who has owned and played the hell out of Minecraft. Space Engineers is the natural "next step" for that genre of game. So, yes, in many ways, it's like Minecraft. There's exploring, building, and player driven gameplay in a relatively "sandboxy" environment and just like Minecraft, this game has amazing Devs who constantly add to the game and make it awesome.

Space Engineers, is the next step in "sand box" play. If Minecraft was an organic creature, Space Engineers would be it's next step in evolution.

As far as I've seen SE became a "Build-nice-things-to-lure-lots-of-destroyers" kind of game, like Minecraft. Am I right?
no it is not minecraft is is A LOT more dynamic
i have to say, i'v played minecraft for over 4 years, and only started plaything this close to a month ago, if minecraft had these types of physics and movements the game would be *in my opionion* very difficult to play, while yes some aspects are the same (mining for resorces, building items) it is not directly related to minecraft its self, though i cant see myself making full functioning space stations that fly around and get smashed by asteroids with gattling guns firing every minute,, now that in minecraft would be cool, though my awnser is no, i dont believe its the same,
In Minecraft, each block is 1 meter^3.
In Space Engineers, one large ship block is 2.5^3 meters and one small ship block is 0.5^3 meters.
omg gujs really??? NO not even close to minecraft just sandbox game aswell you dont call every FPS call of duty becouse you shoot with guns in all of them.

Very good point but you also wouldn't be wrong by saying a FPS is like Call of Duty. If he asked if the game WAS minecraft then I would say no. But he asked if it was like Minecraft and they do share many similar gameplay mechanics, ie block based construction and mining. Space Engineers is a unique game but in some ways it is very much like Minecraft.
It's a sandbox building style game. Minecraft is in this genre but it is not Minecraft. The guy that used the analogy with FPS games is correct. The same way Terraria and other games like Starbound have a similar design but different mechanics. Mario to Sonic, etc.

Basically in this game you start with something or nothing, depending on how you want to play. You design whatever you want in space but materials are premium. Without things like Uranium life doesn't exist. There is propulsion systems and weapons and there are also refineries and assemblers. You can automate systems and design pads that move. To me, of the two, I prefer this over minecraft simply because of the advanced mechanics and the space setting.
