Welding ship - How on earth do I automatically fill it with steel plates?
So, the facts.

I have

1. A welding ship, fitted with collecters and a large storage crate on it.

2. 2 Refinerys and 2 Assemblers.

3. I ONLY deposit Iron ore into these refinerys and ONLY make steel plates in the assemblers.

Now the questions,

1. How exactly do I make it so I can place a connecter or collecter to spit out only steel plates?

I've hooked up a couple large storage crates, and manually put a lot of steel plates into a crate that is connected to a connecter. I turn it on, but it spits out the iron ore from my refinerys/crates as well.

How do I work around this?

Basically I want to be able to park my welding ship up, turn on my connector and have it fill the ship with steel plates.

I'm pretty lost as to how to fix this.

This is why we need filters. I have gotten the same problem and I haven't been able to figure out how to get around it. Probably because, at the moment, you can't.

Manually put items into the connector and have 'all items' turned off in its control menu.

Just need to manually drag n drop your plates to the connector there is NO WAY to have it do that by itself. Be glad at least, they INCREASED the connectors volume last patch, 8k is such a grand number when it used to be 1k, took forever to transfer stuff at 1k.

Put it in connector through inventory tab, switch off conveyors in connector and release stuff through connector

we have a small container pod at the end of a pipe with the connectors after the cargo pod we then manually move as many plates as you want to that cargo pod once you have filled it then grind tube before cargo pod down until it no longer active ie:below the line go to cargo pod and turn on connectors to dump all, now because pipe is disconnected it will only dump from that small cargo pod only once it is empty turn off connectors and re-weld the broken pipe and repeat as necessary.

Could also try turning off the conveyor system for the refineries / assemblers. Not sure if the 'collect all' will ignore this or not.

Nope this wont work, I tried it a while ago in hope of getting rid of the annoying micromanagement. Collecting all will still affect all containers, also meaning assemblers and refineries, even if the conveyorsystem is turned of.

We really need some kind of filter system. For collectors/connectors AND for cargo too, I just hate when the ore is getting stored between my ammunition and my materials because the game decides that's the way to go.

Giv epix pl .. ähhh Giv filter pleaz!

Complicated but innovative solution to sort inventory, until we get it in official capacity.
