Howto connect blocks between 2 rotors?
I need 1/2 block or something alike:

There is a rotor on both side and a rotor is a tiny bit larger than a single block. So I can't connect them... How is this solved?

AFAIK, you cannot connect two rotors to the same string of blocks. I just use one, and I would love for someone to correct me!

you need to use merge blocks, there is a vid on youtube that ill try to find...

If the door is very long, it won't be stable.

This guy managed to do so:

But he uses regular rotors, i got advanced ones. Does that mean that advanced rotors won't work in my case? :(. Which would be kinda silly

also have you tried building a rotor part on the door and then hitting attach in the k menu?

Mmm I don't understand how that applies to me. These are not pistons, these are rotors. I can't just fly them on top of each other. And even if I did, it would create a gap in the door at the sides.

Easyest solution is to set the 2 rotors displacment to the max negative value, add the merge blocks facing each other, then increase the rotor displacement until the merge blocks touch and connect.

The rotor displacement with 2 mergeblocks did it! thanks everyone.

no problem glad to help

Does this still work? I can't seem to get the merge blacks far enough apart to have a gap.

I honestly dont know i havent tryed this in a long time. i tend to just use one of the mcm ramp mods these days to set up loading bays etc.

Yes, this still works, I use a similar setup to take advantage of diagonal (45 deg) station grids

First build a block or 2 off each rotor

When you get to the point 2 blocks would perfectly fill the gap add a merge to one

You will have to adjust rotor displacement to get that gap correct

Then rotate it out of the way and add a merge to the other side, and turn them both off

Rotate them back into alignment and switch the merge blocks on

Now you can fill around the merge blocks and once a solid block connection is there delete them and replace with normal blocks

Enjoy :)

I was trying to do it this way...

Edit: after reading the comments this no longer works, but there is a work-around a few comments down.
