do incompleat blocks have less mass

lol as far as i know its mass will be the same no matter what state its in but i could be wrong

Its the easiest thing in the world to test. Add a block to an existing ship, check its mass then weld it up and check it again.

info does not give total ship mass , just block count, and artificial mass value

i figure my ships rough mass total by taking the wight of the most common armour block and multiply its weight by the space engineers wiki stats then subtract 10% for all the other blocks cause they dont take up much room

Why not use the information "Mass:" in the box to the lower right while having boarded your ship?

mass should be based on components. if you remove components from the block it should weigh less. if that's not the case then it's probably a bug in the way mass is calculated. i do know that if you change the recipe for a block its mass changes.

im in creative mode so i wonder if that has anything to do with it i ground down 10 light armour bocks till they had 1 plate left then checked the mass in cockpit no change
