1x1 small hinge not attaching to large grid hinge

I'm in space, the 1x1 is right in the middle, facing upward (from the Large grid), and it just won't attach... did something change?

To the best of my knowledge, you could never attach a small grid block to a large grid, and vice versa without some form of 'adapter', such as a rotor with a small/large grid head.

OP is using the hinge which is perfectly fine and the basis for the current custom autocannon ball turret, so is trying to make the adaptor.

To Rexxia its working on my end, the question however is what exactly are your trying to connect? There is a 1x1 hinge and a 1x1 hinge part, it must be the hinge part only, could you be trying with the full hinge?

In space I use my Tug ship to grab and hold the small hinge part in position to attach :)

I got it to work by moving the hinge part to one side, not floating in the center
