Voxel density
I dunno it looks like voxel density (voxel to ore chunks ratio) is higher now. I was mining with inertial dampeners off on speed 0.5 m/s no problem before patch 1.107 using mexpex drills, all the ores was being collected even before they render. Now I can't mine even on speed 0.2 m/s and huge amounts of ore are scattered around, slowing mining speed ever more. But I'm collecting like the same amount of ore per time as in last patch, or even more. Like every voxel is containing more resources. I have mixed feelings about this change :fsad:

Mining is very strange to me right now. I have good simspeed again, but i'm also getting a ton of ore not going into the drills. And even with a perfect showing simspeed i'm not even close to being able to mine with dampeners turned off. I literally have to sit for 1-2 seconds before the ore registers as being mined and disappears before i continue forward.

yeah I just noticed that as well it was like Stutter step mining really weird
It's like mining iterations (delete voxels - generate ore chunks - register them as collectable objects) is slower now - better perfomance but not really comfortable even having more ore per voxel. I was using mexpex drill exactly because of good balance between perfomance and effectiveness, now it is like over optimized almost not effective mining method.

Same here, it feels like there's a 1-2s interval between actually "mining", it's extremely annoying, my "tunnelers" no longer work as before they tunneled at around 0.5-1.5m/s because the voxel deformation was progressive but since now there's a "pause" between mining processing, it "crashes" and damages the drills V_V

Well i currently asked sektan to look into turret mining instead of drill mining gona catch him tomarow to see if he has definitive thoughts on it yet basicly its a two stage turret twin drilling beams and a tractor/grav collector in between the drilling beams. this will be ranged and he did not say not possible asked me for more info on what i had in mind for the look of it.

THIS! This is what I've been waiting to see changed for 6 months. It seems to me that very few people even recognize how lame this is and how nice it used to be.

i get the feeling they did it as a band aid for the sim speed issues with mining until they make some substansial changs.. but only time will tell on that one, right now its pretty bad..and freezes on planets still...thats awesome too.
