How to claim ownership of abandoned ship in space
I died and respawned in an atmospheric lander mk1. While looking for ores I found a large ship (no guns externally or tools) so I don't know what it would do except maybe go very fast; plus a large platform with refinery/ assembler, etc. I could hit T and enter the control chair in both ships, and could set the ownership panel to 'me', but that didn't do anything. I know nothing of the ships, but would like to own them and use them to build a large base for myself.

I haven't been able to get the admos lander to work, so may just salvage it and try to build a new base on a nearby asteroid. The two ships above are about 20,000m away.

Input? Suggestions? I'm a little tired of trolls, so ...

Assuming that they don't have ownership as no body, you will not be able to claim ownership of everying at once. You will have to grind down each block with computers till the computers are removed. Then weld them back up. Or you can go in to the game menu and reset ownership which should allow you to claim them.

If ownership is no one then you can select all and change ownership to yourself. If it is controlled by player or pirate then start by claiming control stations cirst. If you gri d down the flight seat or cockpit below the blu line then weld it back up it will be yours and you can fly it. You will have go repeat this for all blocks that you want to access and control including doors, reactors and cargo.

There is a hacking block mod available that will slowly hack all the blocks on a connected grid randomly over time.

Thanks, I'll start with the easy part first! If that doesn't work I'll just have to start a new game.
But since I'm now stranded on an atmospheric lander mk that won't be a problem! llol
