You likely wont notice it in the fps but probably in the sim speed smooth and fps dont always coralate i can fly around somewhat well at 13 fps with no stutering.
yea, but OP stated "seeing a 10-20 fps boost", and I was basing my findings on that. Nothing was stated about sim speed, and tbh, I never really paid attention to it. Every time I look at simspeed, it always showed 1.00 for me.
btw, what exactly does simspeed do? I hear about it all the time, but never really figured out what it does/for?
Not exactly sure i just knows its equally important to stability of the game.
This launch parameter is going to be EXTREMELY useful for ArmA 3 though!
I updated the OP to better reflect my results, forgot to check the before sim speed. All I know is that my game went from barely being playable at times when I was building a huge ship (i.e. a stuttering, lagging mess) to something that was entirely playble with structures 5x's what I had before.
Most of these fixes work better for those having issues playing the game at all I have a 20km long structure and im running somewhat smooth while staring down at the planet.
intel i7-4710hq and a geforce gtx 870m, 12gb ram.
I don't think so, I've tried a few of my worlds with big builds and without this command line and it does back to being a stuttering mess. It can't even handle planets without this, so I'm going to say it works for me.
I thought Keen built the engine from scratch not modified it from a built engine?
