[QUICK FIX] FIX UNSUPPORTED GRAPHICS CARD
Hi All,

I had the 'unsupported GPU' error as well today after updating to the newest patch!
I have luckily found a fix for this!

BEWARE: Disabling your integrated graphics while using it will cause you to lose all connected displays to that GPU. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

The thing causing the bug is the integrated Graphics (either CPU or MOBO) on MOBO I am not sure but for me ( I am an Intel user ) it is integrated in the CPU.

Go to:

Right Mouse click Start -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> Right Mouse click Integrated Graphics -> Disable -> Yes

When the Integrated Graphics are disabled, Space Engineers will boot up again and will not detect your Integrated Graphics as the GPU (therefore unsupported) but will instead know again that you have in fact a dedicated GPU which is fine to run the game!

Hope I helped you out!

Pinned this until the devs can get round to fixing the issue. Though it should be noted this workaround is at the users own risk.

Do you have a dedicated card? Turning off your integrated graphics while having a dedicated card and having your monitor hooked up to that will do nothing to your PC. You can turn it back on again as soon as Space Engineers is fixed!

If you are only running an Integrated card and / or have monitors hooked up to it I would reccomend not disabling it as you will lose display on those monitors untill you turn the integrated graphics back on.

(this means that if you only have integrated graphics, you will have to do so by accessing the BIOS. Therefore I strongly reccomend not to turn the graphics off if you are not sure if you are using it or not!)

Be very carefull with disabling your onboard video card, if this is acting as a hardware pipeline you might end up with no screen output at all.

like WTH I was playing SE today from like 9am to 12pm and all was good 60-30fps to whatever I was doing on screen with my SLI OFF 2 gtx 770. Now it goes and tells me I do not have a card that can run it? They come out with a patch that f'd everything thing up?

I got the same issue. I'm using a laptop with a egpu and external monitor, so if I turn of the integrated gpu, i lose one of my monitor. I have to wait for a fix.

After the update I got the unsupported video card error. I only have 1 video card. When is this going to be fixed?
ShadowzOfTheDark Nov 26, 2015 @ 5:36pm
Thx for the fix, for some people though this dosn't work out sadly :steamsad:... Now the question is HOW IN THE WORLD DID THIS GLITCH GET PUSHED INTO A UPDATE?

This makes me sad.... no more space fun. My laptop was running this just fine on its built in GC.

Why is it every time keen updates the game lunges backwards? it pretty unprfessional if you ask me.

Disabling my Intel 4000 to use only the Radeon HD7700 on my Dell 15R SE doesn't work. It comes with the "minimum requirements" window even sooner. Hotfix tomorrow?

It's not much of a "glitch" or bug. If you have an integrated GPU and a physical card, the integrated GPU should be disabled regardless, it can cause issues like this with many games and applications. Usually it's disabled automatically when you install a card, but I think if you are manually updating the drivers for the oboard graphics (which you should not be doing) it might turn back on. Having 2 different graphic devices enabled can confuse applications, sometimes they pick the weaker GPU because it's on top of the list and some games don't give you any options to change it.

What is a completely seperate issue, is that the Intel HD 4000 is no longer on the supported GPU list while still being listed as meeting the minimum requirements. I think several posters who replied don't realize that is not what this thread is about. I don't know if that issue is a bug or they are adjusting the minimum requirements again, which they just did a couple weeks ago so is not out of the question.

I have a laptop, disabling my built in GC fixed the problem. But because my monitor is hooked up to the built in GC my screen starts doing al kinds of weird stuff when i disable it, and since i have a laptop i can't just plug my monitor into another GC. Is there another way to fix this issue?
