Drilling through planet?
Did anyone drill through the planet and jumped into the hole yet? Got any videos of it?

A friend and I dug with hand-drills for about 1-2 hours while we chatted.
We never reached the bottom and we almost puked jet-pack-spiralling our way out of the hole.
Good times!

If there's a centre down there, then it's pretty darn far.

Go into creative mode and use the voxel tools to dig a hole while in free fall. It works but I stopped after 20 km :)

..... I now feel slightly more hardcore having attempted with hand drills. >:}

I set up a drilling platform on the surface, like something out of a wildcat oil prospectors worst nightmare. Piston driven mexpex heavy mining drill. I managed to get down to 7800 meters before it de-spawned the whole rig all the way up to the surface. I pig-headed my way to 8000 meters, but the game started crashing at random, and finally it got to the point that I couldn't even open the save.

This is something I am going to have to try (in creative most likely with mods) and create a massive drill ship and see what happens. :)

Gentlemen, we have an expedition on our hands.

A Journey to the Center of the Earth!
Use warheads, ya'll using drills and whatnot are sad

I'm currently using warheads to mine through. They stop digging at ~20km if your not near the explosion. Right now I'm at about 24km.

It's not possible to drill with a ship or "warhead" your way thru a planet since at about 7km deep grids will be removed from the game as trash. It might be possible to drill by hand, but I'm not going to try.

Using the voxel tool you can create a tunnel thru a planet, and you can travel thru it by yourself, but again, you can't take a ship thru because it will get removed by the game when it hits the ~7km layer.

Edit: It might be further than that. This is where I got my info.

Im just saying its completely possible. I've blown my way to the core and ships dont get deactivated even there. The players who lost drills probably suffered a bug. P.s rhe core of a planet has no gravity.

Can you upload a world to the workshop?

Yeah in a few hours.

Rumor has it there is a boss at the center that controls a gate that allows travel between star systems.

Just saying, I'm about 30km deep now and have a base down there and continue to blast away. The only problem is that if im not near the blast, they fly through the ground and start flying around in the planet. Which then causes problems.
