How to drive cars/land based vehicles?
I get in, wasd doesn't do the trick.

They are tricky. You have to have the wheel settings right and I am still working on figuring that out. Here are some ideas:

Did you disconnect the vehicle from the build block?

Is the hand brake off. P=toggle on/off. Can put cockpit on hotbar for this too.

Is the vehicle powered and has engines, front and back?

Are the engines powerful enough to move the vehicle? If it's too heavy you might need more or larger thrusters.

Does the vehicle drag on the ground. Change the height offset to raise/lower the vehicle. Piston on the suspension must point up or down.

Increase wheel friction to get better traction.

Thank you for the tips. Do they apply to Speeders as well?

Not sure what you mean by "engines". Do you mean a sufficent power source?

Also increase strength on the wheels to. As it sets the shock absorbers which is set to 0 by defualt. Another thing you will want is landing gears on pistons to raise the wheels well above the ground. Had my wheels explode/vanish on me when I was using another craft and went over 10 k away from it. To bad there are no extending stock ladders like KSP has...

Well you need a power source: battery, reactor, solar panels, but you also need propulsion, an engine to push forward and one to push backward in case you want to back up. Most use atmospheric thrusters, but I guess you could use a hydrogen engine.

you don't actually need thrusters, wheels creat a form of propulsion on their own, hence the power slider in their settings. most importantly, make sure you are feeding them enuogh power, have their propulsionslider set high enough to account for the weight of the vehice, and double check that parking break. it's kinda like landing gear for wheeled vehicles

Hmm, maybe that is why I have so much trouble driving. Well it's a new learning experience for all.
