Why is a station not stationary?
so im working on a build with wheels and i have a platform of 100 square with one reactor and a gravity gen at the center. i start with a small ship landing gear make a 5 by 10 on top of it then place 4 wheels (3x3) w/suppinsion add a reactor cockpit and three gyros one at the front center and two in the back (over kill I know) i save then delet the landing gear and im like no ***t the craft wont set on the ground then im like well needs mass so i put a mass block just behind the cockpit and like a champ that thing hits the deck and leaves me floating in space. i race to it kill my jetpack so i can be on the platform (just thinking how fast can i hit well at about 100 ish the hole station and craft leave me again. so by this point i quit and restart from saved then repet but this time i the sphere ones insted of the cubes.ok nothing once again so i hop in the cockpit of the craft and adjust them a little at a time.till i move to the platform. sweet i make it down to the platform and then once again it starts to move the whole thing. so i jump out of the game and restart steam and the game and try again.. i even make a whole new map and start from begining. and guess what. come you know the station stated to move. so this time i think siz over mater so i make the station 500 blocks. set up and it still moves now be it a a low rate like at .015mps
now that i have ranted what the F**** am i doing wrong. i have NO MODs active in the created world, NO Hacks or extra scrips, and i have the latest update. anyone Ideas please

there is a check box under advanced options to make them stationary again. idr what its called off hand. It was done so a station attached to a voxel would fly apart instead of just sit there.

You have station voxel support enabled. This means any station grid not attached to a voxel/asteroid will become a free floating object when bumped with enough force. To have an immovable station, either attach your station to an asteroid or in the Advanced Settings for your world file uncheck Station Voxel Support.

thank you very much i was having all knids of problems just a note in case you run across anyone else with this problem tell to make a whole new world as well it mostly worked but to be sure and to make sure it doesnt happen again just best to make a new world.
thanks again.

So you also could put thrusters on your station so that it keeps itself stationairy? or does it still flout away?

If you don't have " Station Voxel Support " unchecked...stations act like ships unless ancored to a Roid/planet ground.

Now if your on a planet I do suggest leaving it checked so if a structure loss's it's supports gravity will tople it.

No, not really. The inertial dampeners will force it to a stop once it's bumped. It will still move a bit.

Note that if you built the station prior to checking it going back and checking it now will not work for the station you have built.

I cant find the menu that I see in videos, that have "New Small Ship", "New Large Ship", "New Station". I know it has to be there, or my copy must be corrupt. My objects are never level, and kinda leaves me at square one.

Your copy isn't corrupt, the videos you're viewing are just outdated. So are the in-game tutorials.

To start a new ship or station, now you just place a block unattached to an existing grid.

thanks for your reply. What grid? I see only empty space.

I know its something simple, Im beating my head against a wall.

Just place a block. That's all there is to it. Select a block, point it out in empty space, and place it.

A "grid" is just a fancy word meaning "a ship or station".

I personally find building a new ship is still easiest by placing a landing gear, since the gear will stick to the first thing it touches.
