Go to option > graphics
Top of the list should be DirectX 9 or 11

DirectX 11 isn't supported by all systems/hardware
Doesn't cost you anything to try though.

You can change DX version of the game under the options in graphics. DX11 is better looking in my opinion over dx9, but some older graphics cards have issues with DX11. I would say, start a new game trying out both versions of DX, which will require a restart of the game, and see if you have any issues. A fair amount of mods still support both, or have versions of both DX9 and 11, so there should be plenty of options.

Also note, Windows 10 has trouble with the main menu when the game is running DX9.

The game runs smoother in DX9, But i dont see mods. As well as DX11. No mods, blueprints, etc anywhere... suggestions?
Also, i am using windows 10 but i have the game set to run in compatability mode for Windows 8

Be warned though, when using DX11 the DX9 mods will not appear as they should.

This is true. They'll be all black, and you wont be able to color them anything else.
