DLCs are not needed at all, those are just reskin of existing blocks, character emotes, character suits, and some add new blocks but without giving any advatages to players buying.

You don't get the new DLC for free, but if you add the Ultimate Bundle to your cart again after a new DLC comes out, you only have to buy the new DLC and it will be at the bundle discount price.
