Questions about attacks
Hey, after a long break I felt like playing the game again and when I started I realised that I had to completely re-familiarise myself with parts of it, but then it went quickly again. But what I had completely forgotten was the enemy faction in Singleplayer Survival. I had already built a bit, opened up a few ore veins and when I got back to the base, it was already being shot at by an enemy drone. Even though I died once, I eventually defeated it with my crafting tools. Now I'm wondering what triggers these attacks. Is it through game progress, so the more I build, do they come at fixed intervals or is it just random? Do they get more and more powerful over time so I have to keep upgrading? I have now built a simple gattling gun to defend myself, but is that effective or what should I do instead?

Well I know that when I had a base on the moon and went a little way up and was close to exiting gravity, I could sometimes see ships passing by. Maybe you had a ship pass close by and they got within range of your base and attacked it?

I always choose the crashed ship in space as the starting scenario, without planets around me. I always used that in the past. and today, as in the past, i could always see individual enemies several kilometres away from me as a marker in the hud from the start of the game, but they didn't move directly towards me, but simply turned their circles. but at a certain point i would inevitably be attacked by one or more of them. It would be good if I could understand what pattern the enemies are following here.

What you probably did was mine away and get within the activation range of the enemy antenna (abour 4km) and enemy antenna spawned a drone to go after you.

Absolutely true. Two or three SPRT stations will trigger spawns from as far away as 20 km.

Hi, it depends on the selected options in world advanced settings :

Encounters :
-> Adds abandoned ships and stations in space and some are protected by enemy Drones or turrets.
+ Those spawn at a safe distance of the player so we can take our time to go there for a Battle and to loot.

Drones :
-> Adds drone spawners here and there in space only.
for example; the 2 Tiny enemy Drones, one Drone got drills and one got welder/grinder, they can spawn in to attack us when exiting the Planet Gravity the very first time.

Cargoships :
Those work better in planet worlds having "Economy" enabled that adds Trade stations with Stores and Contracts where Cargoships will be bond to those Trade station Factions.

___________

Note

Worlds where we start at a default Faction station, like the one named "Earth Planet" in Original Content Category, got enemy stations to conquer on all planets, moons and space.

Build a couple of assault turrets. Pirate drones are no match for them. They are heavy enough to blow most small grid drones out of the sky and don't require any special ores to complete or arm.

I will add :

Economy option does not work in asteroid worlds so the Cargoships option will not be bond to any Trade station Factions but just wander here and there in space and are more a challenge at being able to capture without having "bad reputation points" against Trade stations.

I forgot to specify about the "Drone" option in advanced world settings :

-> You should find the Drone spawner and be able to destroy it to stop the spawning that should spawn enemy Drones every 5 minutes by default but I can tell those Drone Spawners are very small and hard to see/find.

EDIT
+ They spawn enemy Drones only when the player enters their antenna range.
