Try actually looking around you? They're all in plain sight..

lol. What you see in game is a Skybox, none of those are real asteroids. =

if you pay attention when you are kindof close you can make out which are the background and which are real. other than that dumb luck, a cool additon would be observatory devices such as telescopes

I have no problem telling the distant asteroids from the background. The real ones tend to move when you pan your mouse around.

yea i can usually see them too once im moving.

the asteroid belt that you begin in is the only one the game creates, however, you can create others using the SeToolBox program and give it its own location at what ever distance you want., One word of advice, the more asteroids you create the more laggy the game can become. If you mine out the asteroids you are currently working on then you can also delete their hulks and add others either through ramdom generation or by determining their exact make up.

There's some great skyboxes online which make it very obvious which ones are real.

My favourite is Gamma clouds from http://skybox.xaelan.com/

Guys, i know that you can see asteroids, i know how to detect real ones vs fake ones. BUT there is a max render distance for them. You can see most if not all of them in your starting asteroid belt. And as i said, the map i have has more than 1 asteroid belt, I was asking if there was a way to locate the others via game files.

You could use the Toolbox to find the coordinates for them, and then you just need to know which direction is which. I've never done it, though, so I don't know where you'ld look in the program or anything.
