water mod questions
i have tried the water mod for the first time recently and enjoy the new experience but i have some questions.

is there a way to keep your ship more stable? i am using a water mod enemy mod and i have captured 2 ships one is a cargo ship with is flat bottomed and wide and is more stable, the other ship is a patrol ship which has a typical V shaped hull and if i walk away from the helm the ship slowly starts to lean over i have tried placing artificial mass in the keel but that doesn't help

is there a way to keep a vessel in place like an anchor?

is there a way in the water mod to change the amount the tide changes? right now the tide swings 40 meters which is wild.

Hi, I never used that Mod so I will not be a good help but the author created a Discord server and that would be the best place to chat with Water Mod users and the author.

From the Mod description :
" Join the discord to make suggestions or discuss bugs you may have experienced:
https://discord.gg/GrPK8cB "

OR
Wait to see if a Water Mod user see your Steam discussion and post in to help.

I can think of two ways to solve the level issue:
1) out riders basically make a catamaran or trimaran, they don't have to be that big, they just add weight and lift, to resist the lien
2) there is a script on the work shop designed to keep a ship level, it needs dedicated gyro's, I use it for airships and heli carriers. Its called auto level or something like that.

From memory the water mod calculates the displacement, so if the centre of gravity is off centre you get the ship leaning. Some of the plane mods allow you to see the centre of gravity (and lift) they may help confirm is off centre, but may calculate it differently. if you want to shift components around to redistribute the displacement and mass.

In terms of staying in place, you could try the auto pilot with maybe a timer to keep triggering it to go to anchor'ed locations GPS. not tried it and it could move the ship around a lot to line up as it likes to head to the co-orients. Other then that you would need to either use a script designed to keep the ship in place, convert to station (may need to have unsupported stations set) or only anchor is shallows were you can deploy a piston(s) based landing gear.

There is a setting from memory to adjust wave height I believe, look at the commands. Don't remember any tide controls,

You really should ask your question at the discussion for this mod of mods. Or at least be reasonable and tell us exactly which mod(s) you are using.

the same problems would apply for ships i build myself so i dont see why i need to go to a specific mod page that only certain people interact with. and i have already received an answer that fixes my issue.

Check the centre of gravity. That could be the issue?

i checked that. the mod has a tool to check and it looked fine, but the auto level script someone else suggested works great i have even seen a real world equivalent so that's even better

Build it wide like a flat bottom boat. Or like what was said in post #2. Or download a boat that was made to work on it and see what they did..

The game has a built in setting for that, its under the info tab. See if it agrees with the mods one.

What if you removed the very bottom of the hulls 'V' shape and flattened that?
