Yeah, sure, thats not how satellites work in real life, but I don't think orbital mechanics would fit Space Engineer's theme.
If it weren't for the speed cap and, to a lesser extent, lack of flight instrumentation, orbiting a planet would be perfectly possible in SE. The math isn't that complicated.
After spending time making drones it's very possible to use a remote to orbit a planet! It's as simple as inputting the way points! That simple!

There more way points the slower the satellite will go! So basically it can be a slow flight orbit.
It's just flying around the planet in a circle.
An orbit requires no thrust once it's been established.
