Easy Start Mode- Red Ship and Blue Ship??

I'm a newbie. Easy Start provided the Red and Blue Ships, plus a fighter, miner and builder ships. What do I do with the Red and Blue ships? Thus far I've found more ores in asteroids within 15,000m. I thought I'd find a hollow asteroid and rebuild inside there for protection from pirates. Other that that I can load the 3 small ships in the Red one and just explore the Universe, I think. I could mine and build as I go. Maybe find a planet and build some kind of planetary lander.

This would be fun, and interesting, but I'd like to hear what others are doing under these circumstances. Might need to go coop at some point. I do like the game and just want to experience some more things without having to experience it all myself through a steep learning curve.

You're "supposed" to do what ever you like with them. But I think they're there as an example of what ship-building involves, to give new players an idea. :)
