If I have 2 large blocks that are on different angles How do I connect them?
It won't let me connect the as they're on different angles

Best bet is to use a hinge in those cases. You can place the whole thing on one block and then delete the one part and put that face part on the other block and use the control panel to 'attach' them together when they are close enough. Beware of Clang when doing this.

Generally however you can only use angles that are 90 degrees from each other, Using merge blocks is the main way.

If you can post a screenshot of the issue it might help us give you more accurate help.

Clarification request : Are these two different ships you are trying to put together, or two stations? Did they start out as one thing and somehow split into two, or is this trying to unite two different base/station sections?

The connection ideas can have different approaches depending on what you are connecting. Frag2k4's statements are good for ships, but I wouldn't use it to unite stations.

when i first read it i dont think he is talking ships. more like why i cant put a sloped block on a sloped block.

I could be wrong

Send a screenshot of this i have two ideas of what i think you mean.

First if there both on hinges and angled then you cant connect them do to them being separate grids

Second if you have just two angled blocks you cant connect them because of there hit boxes

Edit

i could be understanding the OP wrong so some clarification would be nice.

That will not work, well looking at your screenshot, because 2 different grids/2 merge blocks that are not aligned properly so it will not work.

Keep in mind, we have to redo different when a "Not working concept" is found, so try different concepts till solution found.

So I can't tell by the pic if the second grid is a station too (i.e part of it is also in the ground), if so then its simply not possible to connect them, in general connecting 2 stations together is impossible due to overlap.

Your best bet is to simply grind one of those stations down and just make 1 continuous base. Or as Dan said post the save following the instructions and someone can look into it and advise a potential solution.

Good Tip
-> I make sure to enable the "bounding box" with the "B" key when placing blocks so all the different grids/stations that are inside the Bounding Box will be aligned with each other.

I recommend to test the "B" key in a new created creative world to know all the different options it gives :
-> I think there are 3 options in the "B" key, so aligned with Gravity, free rotation/free pasting and aligned with grids that are close (inside the Bounding Box).

Yeah, 3 seconds in, what you want to do is impossible, both are voxel based station grids. so no way to do that as a single grid. any potential for merging requires a 90 degree angle in some direction. And generally one of those grids needs to be mobile in those cases.

You can sometimes put grids together but it required the grids to have once been a single grid and then detatched, but in this case that isn't an option.

Best bet is to grind down that crater mounted solar array and just start it from the base itself up there, or better yet build it as a tower up into the air, gets more sun that way.

I loaded your save and noticed the grids are not aligned.
Here is a one working concept to connect both stations tho there are a lot more that can be done :

+ Next time =
Make sure you enable "align with other grids" (B key) before adding a second station if you want all stations to be aligned and be able to connect those stations together :
