What is wikepedia 2077?

In the game there are many quotes from "Wikipedia 2077". I was just wondering what wikepedia 2077 is. Is it a simulation of wikepedia in 2077?

I believe it's a fake Wikipedia (Only existent in the game quotes) to add to the space feel, or to help provide a little bit of a background to the game. As in you might be a person from the seconds space race, that it talks about all the time :)

Yeah i wondered about that too. But with some thinking i got to the conclution that the game timeperiod is from that time(2077)- and wikipedia still exsist to that date in the game :P.

Actually... it is a refference to Fallout. "In 2077 fires of world war where upon us again, this time the spoils of war, where also its weapons... plutonium and urainum" you see in the old fallout lore there are hints of a single man in space.... you can see him in mothership zeta im guessing that someone slipped in the 2077 as a faint hint that you are this man.

It's a source of exposition. In a game without NPCs, you have to establish the setting through something. Sometimes it's such an Encyclopedia Exposita.

It is a prediction on how far the human race will have fallen if we are still depending on Wikipedia in 2077.

It's just filler text for loading screens at the moment, but I could see Wikipedia 2077 actually being created as a fanon site. After all, we have to put our pseudo-scientific explanations for the gravity generator somewhere.
