However, do note that gold is set to spawn *deeper*. On planets it's usually like 80 meters below ground. This means that a small ship ore detector usually won't see it unless you are practically scraping the ground above it and get lucky...
Switch to using a large grid ore detector. That has a range of 150 m and should spot it nicely.
Consider a range-extending ore detector mod to extend your sensing capability.

Generally, planetary and moon ore clusters are iron/nickel/cobalt, magnesium/nickel/silicon, and silver/gold. The silver/gold clusters are usually 50-70 meters deep, so small grid ore detectors have a hard time sensing those ores. That said, however, a good clue is flying over a visible ore formation and seeing no ore designation on your HUD; dig down and you'll probably find silver and/or gold.
Yeah there is no markings where I am for the test, do you have your drill or an ore detector? Because everything is about 118m plus down.
