Large ship To Small Rotor trick. Does it still work?
been trying for an hr now to attatch a small rotor plate to a large rotor but nothing ever happens. iv tried the ctrl + shif +c/x way as well as the large rotor plate destroyed and small ship landing gear with one block then destroy the gear and the rotor (not the rotor disk) and let it drop in. notta nothing i do will work i even tried the quick save and load as the disk falls into the large rotor bbase but nothing.
has this feature been removed/patched out or am i missing something

iv also had a "tug" hold the rotor disk just in the large rotor and tell it to attatch but nothing happens

It still works, Make sure that the large rotor is owned by you. Start your "new small ship" and simply add a "Rotor Part" to the landing leg. Delete the leg and copy the rotor part.

Pasting is a bit tricky but hold the part inside the large rotor base with the round part just visible to you. Paste it and quickly get to a control panel to click on "attach".

The trick still works you can align a small rotor head with the large rotor body then paste it in or move it in place (carefully) and it will automatically connect. (make sure the setting for the rotor body is set to "Attach")

see now iv done all that would part of my issues be due to the fact that im on a planet and the gravity is jacking me all up

I normally have a timer set to trigger itself and run the attach thing for the rotor.

got it thanks fus, E-man720 for the timer idea and vanubaguio all was set right it was the fact that i was on a planet in space it worked as it always does but on a planet i cannot get this to work (shoulda thought to try it in space before i posted this). so thanks again guys

could you do everyone a solid and upload a bluprint of the small rotor head attached a a large rotor?

not sure how doing that will accomplish anything. i see what you are getting at but all itll be is a large rotor with a small rotor disk even in creative its not like you can paste it to an existing structure ( to my Knowledge) if so id like to know how :wizard: and apon learning so i will happily upload one

2019, for those searching as I did - there is now an option for it in Control Panel - when you weld the rotor, grind the head and just go to control panel (K) of the grid to which it's attached, go to rotor and there is an option Add small head.

What Adam.Podstavka described does indeed work for large-to-small for like 2-3 years now i think. So yes, go for that in such a case.

As for small-to-large however, the other workaround is still needed to my knowledge from starting SE a year ago.
