Catching moving asteroids
:brawler:Help about catching moving asteroids in the scenario. :conelder::steamsalty:

I am a beginner and am doing learning to survive episode in the scenario section. I aim to complete those tasks!

When I begun to "learning to survive" missions
  • The first one I run from a space station
  • next going another moon-like planet
  • next I went to a space station
  • whatever
  • So in the next mission I was dropped me a meteor base station.
There are many tasks for learning game mechanics like digging another meteor or fixing a mining vehicle.

So I finished many of them near base station meteor tasks but I can't catch them with my ship. It's getting fast than me when I just as it will catch 500 meters away (number represent small number like 750).

Should I find their orbits? (Although meteors do not have orbits in reals space whatever )

How can I catch them?
Most important how many missions/task available in this episode?
Is there a mission/task map cause I can't see all of them in space.

By the way, I glanced at http://spaceengineerswiki.com/Scenarios but there is no "learning to survive" topic, of course, It was searched in the wiki.

There are no orbits in Space Engineers by default. If players work at it, they can make things act like they were in orbit.

Asteroids are non moving chunks of terrain. You can use landing gear and lock onto them.

When an asteroid is drilled, or when a cargo container with ore is damaged, there is a chunk of terrain that can move around that looks like an asteroid. It isn't though. These cannot be grabbed with landing gear and you cannot attach blocks to them.

Meteors are more like missiles with different graphics. These cannot be grabbed with landing gear and are really meant to impact something and will disappear soon.

The wikis are not maintained and contain a lot missing/outdated information. Do not use it.

Asteroids are non-movable voxels, just like planets and moons. They will not move, no matter how you try to push against them. A PEBBLE that the drill missed, will not yield to your thrusters.

Pretty much, anything moving at high speed in the game is probably something hazardous to your health.

If you're having trouble 'catching' a non-moving rock... maybe you should slow down before you end up hurting yourself.
