Drilling noise - sounds

Hoi

I just turned down the volume of about anything (cause i like to listen to other stuff while gaming) and I think the drilling isn't really affected. My handdrill seems as noisy as always when chewing through rocks...

Any way to turn this noise down? (mods or file configs)

^^^ This mod made my gaming so much better, being able to hear what else is actually going on. Sadly many have asked for a slider for tools sounds volume but it has been ignored.

The game sounds have never worked in a sane or consistent way, especially if you have the 'realistic' mode set in audio options (speed based disabled) or in the saved game 'advanced' options. The only thing that is remotely close to being 'realistic' about Space Engineers is that if you make mistakes you will probably die ... and perhaps the similarity between the game sounds and ancient Tandy audio equipment. ^.^
