Emotes do they work?

I tried the last days multiple times the wave at each other achivement. No success at all. It looks like even the emote isnt working. How do you use it if they do work? The basic requirements for the achivements are met, its just the "action" itself that seem not to work :/

I've noticed that some of my emotes do not work.
Typically, the wave, and a couple of others, never seem to work.
I've yet to find a way to fix this...

To use them, I usually just pick a toolbar (CTRL+1-0) and add them to my hotbar.

Hi, the other player must be your enemy.

Achievement = Smile And Wave
Wave to an enemy that is also waving back within 5 meters looking at you in Survival.

Maybe try by creating your Faction first, both players should do so before and declare War, for a test.

I've used the Portal search tool to see if one of the participant already reported and found a similar bug on the Official server, tho "Wave" is not specified it may be related.

Maybe try by doing a "Reset like" so do #1 + #2 + #3 first in the link below.

Try again in a new Local world set on friends mode, well if you already tried on Public server.

Create the Portal Bug Report if you and your friend can't complete the achivement.

Well... 31 days later.... either nothing was done or its not the same bug or they implementet that feature again on a recent update. I leave it open to whatever comes into your mind.

To be more precice on what we saw: No wave animation is seen from both of us. Not just by the wave emote. we didnt test every one but quiet a few.
Edit: "Tested" that on a hosted server by gportal.

They may not be able to reproduce that bug and why the report is still reaction marked as "Reported" after 31 days.

well il lgive it a try later in a hosted game on my pc when we play again. for the workarounds 1,2 and 3 ... I will probably scip that until we finished some other achivements. especially #3 is a lot to ask for if you have a lot of custom settings (ye,ye copy paste it back but that would reimplement the bug, wouldnt it?)
Edit: Sorry meant the option #3.

#2 will verify the game files and will not change anything except adding back in missing files.

#3 is to delete the CFG file that will reset all options like Graphic settings to default but will also reset key binds to default.

yeah. my understanding of that parts is quiet good. no offence but these are pretty much standard "helps". and to be honest i remember one time it helped on a game buuuut... 1 vs so many thats basically why i said we gona skip the emote stuff untill .. the very f. last or skip it entierly. Its nothing what i need ingame and that achivementhunting is okisch in some games but if the requirements are set astronomically high like in payday 2 or behind a bugmanifest of epic bs... i tend to just give up. I probably even wont get em all since Keen decided to put some behind a paywall. I mostly do them just out of adiction to some games becuz of fun or something like that. Not becuz of I MUST HAVE EM ALL.

this issue is still occurring as of 10/11/2023

Wave Animation, Thumbs-Up, Facepalm, Aggressive Point, Point Back, Point Down, Point Forward, Point Right. will some times work after a reload of the game for a single player environment and a multiplayer environment on a dedicated server self-hosted or a rented dedicated server, this bug seems to happen less often on a Keen server but still happens...

Recreation of the bug

start a new game changed to toolbar 2 choose any of the listed emotes drag and drop it and only it to the toolbar and then test and then try the next one in the list.. the reload by F5 work around still works, if you die or change to a new server sometimes they will stop working again, hope this is helpful ...
