AI Offensive not finding any target, with obvious target 800m away
Anyone else having an issue with the AI offensive block simply not finding any targets, altough there is a target in reach? My missile just wont find any targets, but it worked fine just before and i didnt change ANYthing. help

Hi, I did not tested my Offensive Drone but I always try a copy/paste to see if the pasted one will work in this kind of situation where it was working before.

If still not working
=
Copy/paste -> save and reload the save to see if the pasted one will be fixed.

Just enable creative from the admin menu Alt+F10 in a testing copy using the save as + change save name.

So i tried that, and reloading but it didnt do anything. Do potential targets need a beacon or antenna?! because the enemy base has active guns that try to shoot me but my missiles wont do anything even when they are only 800m away.
I could upload the blueprint of the missile and stuff but i mean it worked before like this (even in the new update and in the same game session)

Ok so i have tested a bit more and it seems like the subsystem targeting option "Default" just doesnt do anything anymore and power systems doesnt work as well, even tough there totally are power systems on the enemy base. somehow weapon targeting is the only one i could get to work

Testing done on my side = The Drone detected the enemy without problems, went to hit right away and returned to me once all block destoyed, the AI Offensive block was set on Default target.

Details :

1 - Loaded my testing world set creative mode.

2 - Pasted my Offensive Drone that was already set to "Follow me" (using AI Basic) on pasting.

3 - Accessed its terminal and enabled the AI Offensive.

4 - It detected the enemy at long range :

5 - Noticed it was very aggressive against a SPRT Rover, large block ship with antenna and weapons :

Conclusion
-> AI Offensive block detected the enemy and was finding.

Note

I found another bug :

The Drone can turn around to aim at me and get stuck "Shoot ON" for a short time (a few sec) and returned to the enemy grid to keep destroying the remaining blocks.

Happened when my character was close to the Drone :

Looks like I will have to keep my distance so it will not shoot at me in combat.

Alright, thats good to know. But i have my missiles set to intercept pattern and have now done some more testing, only with "weapon targeting" will it do anything at all.

Something is wrong, better report all we found to the SE Programmers, they should reply from a Portal bug report.

I will do more testing and report the bugs I find.

In case you are interested, i just tested the missiles with default targeting again and sometims it works sometimes doesnt, but also only if they have a straight line of sight with the target. if there is a mountain or even slight hill they just sit there and search endlessly for targets

Probably better to make it go up lets say 1400m above the soil, that is above "bad weather", before enabling the AI Offensive when there are obstacles in its Path and adjust the height if needed.

Edit
Adjust the height with waypoints or GPS coords.

More testing done :

All good using the AI Offensive intercept attack pattern on default target, it went to the enemy grid at Max speed.

Details

1 - I have used the same Drone set to follow me in my first test.

2 - Setup the AI Flight at Max speed :

4 - It detected the enemy and went up to 100m/s enabling AI Offensive :

5 - The Drone crashed on Mako's connector (top back) at high speed :

AI Flight Precision mode was ON during the attack and collosion avoidance was OFF,

Conclusion
-> It was able the deletect the enemy at long range and charge it at Max speed.

I also noticed it goes to the same position so Mako's back connector and pushes that huge large block Rover when I lower the "kamikaze Drone" speed / Ai Flight speed to 10m/s :

Alright, yeah thats what i ended up doing pretty much. Just extended the boost that gets the missiles high up and seems to be working most of the time
