Yeah if the antenna is turned of the only way to find it again is by using admin tools :)

Hope you did learn from the experience though, always make sure you ship is not moving when you leave it. And turn those antenna or beacon on before you leave to be sure ;)

oh if beacon works and uses less power, what is point of putting on the antenna?

In not sure, but i think antenna also transmits the location of other nearby objects, such as ores detected by ore detectors.

I use antennas to remote control my Drones and to see the ores at a very long distance.

Beacon is just to name my clusters in space and a cool interior light.

I prefer to add GPS coords if it's to remember where to go.

Beacon is a one-way transmitter that only sends out a "I'm here" bleep, but uses half the power of an antenna.
An antenna is 2-way communication and relay, allowing for extended control and detection of signals. Note: An antenna will only relay an ore detector's findings, not expand the reach of a detector.

And if you really want to save power: you can set a couple of timer blocks to turn the timer on for a couple of seconds say... once a minute.

if your ship has a med bay kill your self respawn then fly back to your body as it gets a gps location for it

and an antenna can be used for ingame-voice-feature...

Btw: beacons need a push.... same range like antenna.... why not 2,000 km ? we have a jump-drive u know? and the antenna with same range is just this: a nerf for the beacon... nothing more...

more or less power in use its not the thing at some point.... but currently we have to ask: why beacon, when antenna is enough? u know? give beacon some sense, again... its currently a very weak-block/feature. and lets be honest 50 Km³ is rly a joke, when we think about jumpdrives and range we can reach with it. :)

currently antenna + /gps share > beacons... why? no need for this!

remote control wont work with beacon ,needs antenna also if ship have detector it broadcast ore position to your suit

I personally use both Beacons and Antenna for most of my craft and ships.

They're both useful in different ways.

Beacon will allow you to broadcast where you are to allies and to help you find your ship or station for much less power than an Antenna would, but the Antenna allows remote control of any ship and station within range as well as shared sensor data and relay from all other Antenna within range.

When used in tandem with Laser Antenna, it becomes INFINITELY useful for tactical / stealth use.

If you for EG need to control a mining drone but don't want everyone and their cat to know where you are, use Laser Antenna between ship or station and a relay directly over the hole, and have a second Laser to connect the relay and the drone. You can control it from another PLANET if you want, and nobody gets the broadcast info unless you want them to.

If this is your save, you can always turn on to space Master tools to find your lost ship.
