Agreed. Disable them. Dealing with them and their havoc becomes a full time job and so tedious that it isn't worth it.
I don't think anyone plays with them turned on for long.
There has got to be a way to disable them for an existing world.
Alternatively you can edit the Sandbox.sbc located in "C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves\YourSteamID#\YourSaveName"
If you choose to edit the file, be sure to back it up first. Edit "<EnvironmentHostility>NORMAL</EnvironmentHostility>", Change "Normal" or whatever it says to "SAFE". Save, exit, start the game.
Yes go to where you load your game, but instead of loading, look for a box to edit settings. You can also go to advanced settings and change any of the settings on your game, even creative vs survival modes. Hope that helps.
