Toolbar Config items have a "+" on them

In the toolbar config items have a "+" in the icon, and when i click on it, it shows the item variants, but i cant seem to get to those items.
For example, the conveyors for a station are missing, but when i click on the item conveyor it shows the conveyor tube in a scroll menu on the right, no matter what i do, i cant seem to select the conveyor tube, ive checked the controls, restarted my game, button mashed, but nothing seems to work. This most likely has a very simple solution but i can't find a forum post online about someone else having this problem, its like i'm the only knob to not know this.

Place the conveyor block in your tool bar.

Select the conveyor block, aim at a station/large ship, use the mouse wheel to cycle between different types of conveyors.

The same applies to whatever other block that has + on it.

Now you switch between Large grid and small grid with 'R' key.

Add the thing to your tool bar, then select it and scroll your mousewheel to access the variants.

But is there a way to remove them? before i just had every item seperate, or is this an update thingy?

It's part of today's update, and probably won't change back.

You can still access individual blocks to place on your toolbar buy searching for them in the upper-right search box in the G menu.

You can use the search bar at the top of the menu to search for specific blocks and they should still be there.

They aren't, that's why i asked, since i wanted to place conveyors and i stumbled upon this problem.
