Conveyor Sorter not pulling with "drain all" function

I have 2 refineries that process ores and I want them to dump to a large cargo container. However, the Sorter isn't pulling from either refinery with the "drain all" checked (blacklist, no items, so should pull all).

Ownership issues? Check if everything belongs to you. Sorter won't pull from things that doesn't share ownership with it.

Check if everything is powered and ON.

Check if refineries are set to use conveyour systems.

I built the ship myself, so I should have ownership but I can check again. Everything is powered, and refineries are set to use the conveyors. I have even tried turning machines off and then on, removing the replacing pipe, I am at a loss.

Well it's strange indeed. Are you sure the sorter is oriented correctly? (i.e. not backwards)

What are you trying to pull? Ingots?

You sure it's a empty blacklist? Try whitelist + ingots allowed

Is the system looped? I.e. the refineries are connected to the cargo from somehwere else that doesn't go through the sorter?

I remember doing looped systems and having it cycle items so I am trying not to do that this time. It is just supposed to pull ingots from the Refinery and place them in the cargo hold that the Assembers will access.

Sorter is oriented correctly (arrow facing destination). I tried a whitelist with *ingots* and still no go. I am at a loss.

I realized that if I put a sorter on each side of the Conveyor block (so 3 sorters total), it works. Not sure why, but it's something.

That's weird. So it means that sorters "before" the conveyor block works, but the sorter placed "after" the conveyor block can't pull.

I know this is a little necro but thank you Legas, I had created a faction halfway thru my base build and the newer half of my base blocks had different ownership. Selecting everything in the control panel and changing ownership to "Me" with "share with faction" selected fixed my issue.

I know this is an old post, but I just had the same issue and this thread was one of the first results to pop up. What I had to do was turn off the welders in my base, for whatever reason those were causing parts not to sort into my large storage container.

Hope this helps someone.. I had this issue and this was what I found.
I was trying to create a Refinery for only Iron Ore. I had a Large Cargo attached to a sorter attached to a refinery. No other tubes in between. When I rearranges it to ..Large Cargo -> Conveyor Tube -> Sorter -> Refinery.... It then all worked like a charm.
