How do I go back to DX9?
I am currently on DX11 and want to try going back to 9 but in the graphics option only get the option to choose DX11? I have made sure my Graphics card has been updated to the most recent drivers as well. Any thoughts?

Right click on game in Steam Library, then:
properties > BETAS (tab) > select dx9-32 bit from the list

You may also need to delete the file:
%appdata%\SpaceEngineers\SpaceEngineers.cfg

Keep in mind that DX9/32-bit support was discontinued in March[blog.marekrosa.org], so to play with DX9, you're stuck using an outdated/abandoned client and this version may be incompatible with newer worlds that were created in more recent versions.

Library > Space Engineers > Properties > Betas > DX9

Back in the 130's SE switched over to only DX11, and all branches will only support DX11
