https://www.reddit.com/r/spaceengineers/comments/b2y49n/removing_engineers_corpses/
i read this already. I doesn't really want to disassemble the ship again... xD.
I also don't understand why they weren't given a hitbox.
i removed all the blocks next the corpes and this didnt move with the ship anymore. but if they had a hitbox...then they are not allowed to go through blocks once they are "free" (i.e. no longer attached on the ship)
it's weird
Just publish the save on the Workshop and send it directly to the SE Programmers.
Support Portal = https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc
(create "Bug report" or "Request help"(Private) or "Feedback"(Petition) on the Portal)
All may use the Support Email to report the bugs found if they prefer :

That said, I have used in creative mode working on my next Workshop scenario and did not noticed any problems, I was able to delete and place new ones by aiming with block in hand.
-> I aim at the dead enegineer with block in hand and right click to delete.
By deleting = OK
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2894365917
By grinding = OK
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2894366328
and I was able to see its bounding box and it shows on screen ^ that I am aiming at that block.
Conclusion :
May be bugged in your save only so in specific save / specific situation and why sending your save for testing will help the SE Programmers.
____
You may share the save here too so I can load to see what is going on.
>> How to publish a world save :

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, since I no longer have a backup where I know where these corpses are, I can't make a video/picture right now.
All I can say is that I found the bodies via a mayday signal and rebuilt the ship.
If I ever find the bodies again, I'll report back.
But I can tell you that they didn't have a hitbox, because I didn't get an infobox either (like in your picture). It must be a bug, since you've proved that you can normally remove/see them.
But were moored at the other blocks. but after removing them, was able to build blocks into the corpses without them locking/aligning to the corpse's grid.
I have mods on it, but they shouldn't actually edit the corpse. Maybe it's because the world has had several updates, but since the MAYDAY signal is new, I don't think so.
Thanks for the answer/ help.
I usually grind those ships to recover the important I need and never rebuild to use but I will go in-game to see if I will be able to grind it.

it dont look 100% like this but you should find it,
+ The one in the "mayday signal" is probably too old.
