Is it that people have been playing for 6 months with the sound completely off?
I do run mods, including a couple of sound mods, but have always played with arcade sound, so maybe that's the reason that I've never had this happen.
I feel your pain though, there's nothing worse than a f*#%d up soundscape...
+ Tho I mostly play creative mode it's all good in survival, too.
Workaround may be to disable the music ??
can you share your save?
I could load it to see if I have the same problem, and you could share the steps to reproduce so I can do the exact same thing you do to have this bug.
1 - Share the steps to repro, so what I have to do to see the bug.
2 - Share the world.
>> How to publish a world save :
1 - Select your save.
2 - Click the "Publish" button on the left.
3 - Choose a proper Tag, check Steam upload and click the OK button.
4 - Your world will be uploaded to Steam Workshop.
5 - Paste the Workshop item link here.
- Enter the ship named "Ship 1" from the blue door.
- Exit the ship from red door by walking inside the ship.
- fly at 5km away from ship 1 using jetpack.
= Notice the sound bug ....
There is a link to the official bug report in the opening post, and it's in the format you are requesting. There's 100 or so other people also bumping it up. the bug was confirmed as existing by your dev team 6 months ago.
To reproduce the issue: Get in to a spaceship with realistic sounds enabled and jump up and down. Each time your feet leave the ground the ambient sound loops and multiples as described. In a ship with lots of working machinery around the noise becomes swiftly intolerable.
Based on the advice of TheVipersFang I tried running the game with arcade sound enabled and it did indeed alleviate (but not completely eliminate) the problem. So that is the workaround if anybody is reading this, if one can handle the immersion hit.
I can try again in my save but I woild prefer to try a save where it already happens.
Edit: Ok I will get my save.
Thanks for trying to help.
When noise starts to loop. Fly far from the ship. The noise will still be at full volume despite distance.
