Turning on all drills at the same time?
Is there a way to manage large ship drills on/off better than 1 block at a time? I have built a massive drilling machine with 26 drills and I can only fit 9x4 for hotbars and it's a real pain to turn them all on/off one by one.

There must be a better solution for this already? Can someone help?

If you group the drills together, then assign the group to your hotbar, you will be able to toggle everything in the group.

You can also drag the Drill from the very top of the G-menu when in the cockpit, which lets you control all at once with the Left Mouse Button.

I had tried the drill at the top from the G menu, but i had only put it in my toolbar, and tried to just press that button which didn't work. Now I understand.

As far as the other answer, Grouping the drills, that sounds interesting, not sure how to "Group" them though...

Thanks for everyone's help with this! I ended up making a massive awesome drill that can cut through huge asteroids. The hard part was creating a system of conveyors and tubes to collect the ore into the ship for over 30 drills. However, alas I was unable to actually make it work, it cuts through the asteroids, but NO ORE is collected for some unknown reason! not sure what is wrong....

If you are on creative you're containers have unlimited storage and so all of your ore will be collecting in one single place somewhere on your ship, most likely your connector. That or you may have your connector set to expel all and are simply shooting all your ore into space.

I dont have a collector. I have all the drills connected to the storage using a set of conveyors and tubes.

In my small drill ship (that used to work) i have all of the drills connected using conveyors and tubes to the storage bins and the connector. Alas, that ship is apparently not working either anymore.

I see no debris of ore anywhere while drilling, the asteroid is definitely being drilled, but the entire ship is empty, drills, storage container or connector all empty. been this way since last update.

Is there a bug that causes ore to dissapear if there are more than 1 conveyors being used?

Sometimes because there are no multi-way tubes, i have to connect multiple conveyors to get all the tubes to connect through to storage. Could this be causing it to not work?

Just figured it out. If i turn on the drills using the top drill icon and the mouse, no ore is collected whatsoever. If i turn on the drills one at a time using the blocks, it works fine.

I'm going to try the grouping thing now :D

I noticed this too with the small ship drill, it'd drill a huge area but not collect anything. The icon that lets you activate it with the mouse button is almost like a weapon mode. Grouping is the way to go; single button press to toggle all drills.

Drills have two modes when used with the mouse button. Normal mode drills and collects the Ore, while secondary mode drills a larger area but does not collect anything. Check your control settings to make sure you're using the normal mode and not secondary.
