If using mini ships or players, then mabe try releasing them from a bunch of landing gear in the barrel?

It fired small ship warheads coated in heavy armor
But like a paintball gun the shots had a bad tendency to explode in barrel

There are a few problems with this design, mostly reloading the clip, and ensuring only one of each ammo part is sent into the chamber. But its an idea, one that im going to attmept here shortly
It is based on gravity breaking the landing gear due to limited force.
However, it needs gravity based porpulsion for the amunition:

Rotors have to be used to put them items into place for thier firing.
