On one hand, they said they would never add furniture.
On the other hand, they said the same about planets...

There's no code in the .EXE to support farming.

No farming, no coffee. No coffee, no coffee tables.

It'd take a LOT of work for Keen to add coffee tables.

What would it take to convince you to use mods?

ah dang it...oh well

thanks for your insight though.

what would it take to convince me to use mods? I am fine using mods, I just want to be able to get what I see as a baseline without using mods

guns = ok
furniture = not so much

yeah not a fan of that but oh well
If you've ever played Minecraft you will know how to use blocks in unconventional ways to get your desired results. I've used LCDs and passageways for beds for example. Also remember that the blocks have build stages so are essentially several in one if you use your imagination some.

As far as mods a must have for me are small ship/large grid mods where you can make SSGLs(Small Ships Gone Large) to achieve more detail in your build. Start with one of these and build your mod list up after that. TBH there are so many mods that I use on a regular basis, for various reasons, and I could spend half a day describing them. I don't wanna do that lol. Note that these SSGLs are more resource intensive and can strain your PC leading to lower simspeeds and low FPS.

MinionJoe tells me that its not possible to add beds and coffee tables to the game. I have played voxel based games in which it is possible I wish it was possible here but I guess its not. I mean to be fair the tables in those games do not look as good an LCD panel laying on the floor but its nice to have options

Is true. None of these add tables or beds to the game:

Totally impossible.

I am struggling with this comment:

'Is true. None of these add tables or beds to the game:'

to the links you posted.
/sarcasm lol

He wasn't saying you can't add beds and tables, its just that KEEN has stated that no blocks that could be considered decoration will ever be added to vanilla

ok so that is still confusing.

first its 'no they cant'
then its 'no they cant/sarcasm they actually can via other peoples mods'

seemed like a simple question to me I guess not
Tux 31 aout 2016 à 14h01
I think the correct answer is

technically they can however they want to only add blocks that are related to structures and processes and leave aesthetics to the community thus it is something you will only be able to get in a mod.

I think (I dont know) if that is right or if that is the view of the developers. if it is I dont agree with their reasoning but never the less if that is what it is

you were mislead by intentional sarcasm and misinformation by Joe. I answered your last post with /sarcasm meaning that he was laying it on thick.

No, KSH will never add any blocks like beds, tables, etc.

this was intentionally misleading and in poor taste. You knew the answer and decided to complicate it for whatever reason. Dont do that cuz its bs when people just want a simple answer
so lets intentionally make them complex for..... why? kicks? Don't do that. Others might wish to have this same information and you are making it harder for them too

I've chatted with Tux most of the day today and I've seen Tux posting over on the NMS forums.

Tux doesn't enjoy simple answers. I'm not even sure Tux notices simple answers...

thanks for explaining that to everyone. not sure how its relevant here though but fair enough

Well, when one poster ostracizes and berates another for their chosen method of replying, it's sometimes necessary to explain that the method of reply was tailored to the recipient.

But, yes, it's irrelevant since Oneill_420 can't do ♥♥♥♥ to change how I post.

no idea what your going on about right now.

regardless.

I am of the position that if the developers do not want to add aesthetic items to the game that this is a bad decision on their part. I think your implying however that its really not their decision as much as its not technically possible because of game lore

There are multiple mods that add what you are wanting to the game. I provided links to the best of those mods. I recommend using whichever one looks best to you.

Don't expect Keen to waste their money to recreate what modders have done for free.

Ok I really think you Fanboyism of Keen software is clouding your judgement here but regardless of that not much I can do about it so it is what it is.
