Workshop content will not be displayed or downloaded
Hi,
I didnt start the game for a while and now coming back, some starnge things are happening.
Neither subscribed Mods nor Custom Scenarios are visible in game.
In Appdata\Roaming\ are several old .sbm files, but only the folders are shown in game.
It seems like the workshop is broken. Even creating a clean mod Folder won trigger a download. The log file doesnt say anything abnormal.

How can i proceed?

Mods are now stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\244850 (assuming default location for Steam). If the mod has a config and/or log file, those can be found in %appdata%\SpaceEngineers\Storage

Have you enabled Experimental mode? (Main Menu - Options - Game) Mods are only supported with this turned on.

Oh! Yes indeed, we must enable "Experimental" to see the world (saves) settings and be able to add Mods to it.
Rantalunta May 19, 2019 @ 10:26am
Ok, thx for the fast reply. Experimental mode was already set in the options. In the content\244850 folder are subfolders of the mods I subscribed today: steam id: 1742077477 (Cockpits with more LCDs) and also the old folders with the other mods i used.
So it seems to be downloaded correctly(?). But the game doesnt "see" even the subscribed items from today.
I there a way to force the game/steam to refresh all the downloaded mods?

The Mods I use are OK so I really don't know why you can't pkay with Mods.

Same > share at least one "not working" Mod so I can try.

I understand :)
So, how do we get my game to "see" workshop items?
a few options:
- Is there some other log file, where the downloads are stored?
- has SE a verbose debug mode?
- if the above fails: clean all folders/files from workshop items, so the game downloads the stuff once again -> renaming content\244850 did not trigger a new download
- last: reinstall the game
- not good, really annoying, i dont want that: unsubscribe over 800 Steam workshop items to find out the bad guy - maybe there isnt even one.

Since I am no expert on SE, I need a little help figuring out how to achieve it.

this was the shared mod: (Cockpits with more LCDs) : 1742077477 : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1742077477&searchtext=

Thx for the help.

Took a second to dowload and I have noticed only one Modded Flight seat for large block and one Oxygen cockpit for small block :

I seemed to work properly tho I did not tested the block completely.

And I never mess with the Mods folder so why do you need to?
Rantalunta May 19, 2019 @ 11:24am
Please read and understand the first post! I am trying to fix my game.
I cannot play with mods, and you are saying with your game all works.
Congratulations, good for you!
Its like I say: "my tire is broken" and you say "on my(your) car all works fine, so why do you want to mess with the screws"
To be polite: This is not helping.
Obviously there is something wrong wit my installation at some point. Since it worked a few weeks ago, it must have occured recently.

Not even sure, if thats the right place to get tech support

Sorry, my bad!

"Not even sure, if thats the right place to get tech support"

No, here you will have help from me (playing since 2013) and the Veteran players.

Maybe ask directly to a SE programmer on the Support Portal, he is the best to know what is going on cause I can't reporduce this "bug" so I don't have any "Workaround or fix"

Open a "Request for help" here > https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general

- if the above fails: clean all folders/files from workshop items, so the game downloads the stuff once again -> renaming content\244850 did not trigger a new download

Mods are redownloaded everytime we load them so it should update if needed.

Mods goes here now, like WheelChock said :

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\244850 "

But since the new SE version I never had to delete my Broken Mods in there so why I asked you why you need to go there, my bad I did not specified, sorry again.

And you really don't see your Mods in the "Add Mods" button?

Thx for your help. And sry for any confusing comment.
Yes, the list of mods is empty. Also the custom scenario list from the workshop is empty. its like forced vanilla.

Don't be sorry, I am FR with a bad English, well I may not exxpress correctly sometimes :cozyspaceengineersa:

I have noticed a member that deleted files in the Steam folder and that broke his game so you may have reinstall the game to fix!?

You could try this :

1 - Delete the CFG file in appdata SE.

2 - Verify the game cache with Steam.

3 - Try the game and go to Game options from the main game menu and check the "Experimental" Box right away.

4 - Try a Modded workshop world > can be found in "Workshop content: in "New" from the main game menu.
