Mystery Power Drain
Hi,

Since the recent stable update, I've been having mysterious power drains while my ship should be idling. Once I dock a ship, it doesn't seem to matter what I do - even if I turn off absolutely everything, I've still got massive power draw, like my thrusters were at or near full tilt. The only way to stop it is to turn off the reactor, but the issue comes back as soon as the reactor comes back online.

The only fix I have found is to save and reload, but I really don't want to do that every single time I get in and out of a ship. Anyone else having this problem? Or know a workaround?

FYI, I'm on the stable branch with no mods.

Thanks

Batteries might be charging.
Refinieries and assemblers?

Thanks for the response. This happens even without batteries, refineries or assemblers. The only thing on one of my ships is drills and storage. (Aside from the necessities - gyroscope, thrusters, flight chair, antenna)

Check your Solar panels

with your reactor off it should tell you what systems are trying to use power, might help narrow it down

I found some bug with merge blocks that'd keep duplicating the power draw of the attached bit every time you docked with it. Might be related?

Didn't find a fix. Just save/reload.

No merge blocks either.

Nice tip, Twelve. It says I'm drawing 30MW of thrust. But not only am I docked, I have turned off every single thruster in the control panel. It only stops if I actually grind away all the thrusters.

Thoughts?

press Z and i bet you £100 it goes away : p

if its what i think it is it is you ships inertia dampeners are trying to fight a force from either a connector if you are using the magnetic feature, it can even be as something as stupid as a pile of steel plates you might have dropped on the floor and gravaty is pushing them down aginst your ship and its fighing back to stay in place

Haha. I already tried that. My thrusters are pulling 30 MW even if I've got dampers disabled and i'm just plummeting to earth. I'm 99.9% sure that I'm not doing anything wrong and there's an issue with my game for some reason. I'm just hoping for a workaround.

I had a similar problem on a deployable sail ship i made. Same mystery power drain. Tried everything. Shutting down gyros, engines, equipment, etc one by one. Nothing changed. Turns out after checking out all the rotors that deployed the sails, i had built a block one space to far in, thus causing the rotor to try an rotate the ship, kicking the gyro and engines into trying to level out. Recheck all your rotors is my suggestion.
