No no I've cleared the mod folder. Even when I attempt to run the game via a clean install/no mods on single player I still get a 0.3 - 0.4 client sim speed :(
I've never ever had this problem before and its bugging me so much, all after that cursed most recent update! D:<
So I've somehow managed to fix it (I have no clue how I've done it but it's fixed).
The main steps I took just before fixing the sim speed issue.
- I reinstalled the game and cleared mods/appdata
- I turned on V-Sync (Which tbh shouldn't have an effect on the simulator speed)
- I closed overlay applications (I think this is what caused it)
So essentially I have Steam + Origin + Uplay + Overwolf + ShareX + GeForce all using their silly little overlays for me when I'm ingame, now every other game I have can handle these, but knowing the mess of duct tape that holds space engineers together, I doubt it can handle them.
Anyway I disabled the overlays of Origin and Uplay and now I'm getting a solid 1.0 sim speed.
It's really quite odd, as I said I've never had this problem before even with these overlays in place, it has only occured since the most recent updates. I know it definitely wasn't my hardware, just considering the fact that I have 2x Liquid Cooled 1080's, 32GB 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM and a lovely little i7 6700k.
So yeah... maybe this will help someone else, though I doubt it.
Good luck fellow engineers,
May Klang have mercy on your soul.
