"No Fuel"
I'm building something with reactors and now I keep getting the "no fuel" audio warning nonstop when entering any cockpit.
Stuffed the only few uranium ingots I got so far into them, still "no fuel".
Now it even keeps running on repeat while I'm out of vehicles!
Turned the reactors off, still getting it.
Saved, reloaded, now I get the warning only if I'm in a vehicle docked to the station again.
I TURNED THE HUD AUDIO WARNINGS OFF and still get it.

What gives?
If you use reactors at all and you're out of uranium, the game just whines every 2 seconds that you're out of fuel?

What even counts as "fuel"?
Do ingots have to be in storage somewhere?
Because it sure doesn't give a crap about ingots inside of the reactors or if they're turned off or on.

And where is the off switch for this feature?
The game doesn't complain every 2 seconds if I'm out of ice too.

You should read the Testers reports, some have a reaction mark as "considered and that means the SE programmer will fix later.

Here is one of the reports :

https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/false-no-fuel-warning-and-0-sec-with-example

You may add your problem description to that existing report if you want to help.

Reading the first comment we see a short description of the problem :

* Battery
* Control Stations
* Small Reactor(turned off)
* Solar Panel

Looks like it happens in that specific situation so withdraw one in that list and it should fix!?

Well it fixed itself now, somehow.
I reloaded the world again, got the warning once and then it never happened again.

Basically, you get the "no fuel" message when you have an empty reactor. It will pull power from other sources, but the message will still appear because the reactor isnt supplying any power. An easy fix is to just turn off the empty reactors.

It does the same if you have hydrogens engines with no hydrogen in them, its really obnoxious.
Daveroski Nov 22, 2019 @ 7:02am
This has been in game since there was only the ion thruster available. Before there were atmospheric thrusters, before there were hydrogen thrusters.
The warning was a nipple clamp back then and has never been revisited.
That was really annoying but the last straw for me was when some morons whined that they couldn't hand drill in zero-G without the ore flying away.
Did the devs suggest digging a curved tunnel to get to the ore?
No, they changed physics so that ore is no longer affected by inertia and quickly comes to a stop so that idiots can pick it up. Even in a fantasy game, some things should work as you expect them to.

Good to find this thread. I'm in exactly this situation with my first large ship. I've got a reactor and very little fuel, so I've turned it off and am relying on solar. Adjusting the orientation of the ship to maximize solar input, I keep hearing "NO FUEL" audio warning.

I suppose...I can use up the uranium in my reactor then dismantle it partially so that it will just stop bothering me.

the "no fuel" message has nothing to do with uranium..
it has to do with power time left.. when it hits 0 it says no fuel.

the issue is, solar panels always have 0 time left when they are working.

if your station or vehicle has a solar panel on it and the batteries fully charge, it will say no fuel

As aaron said it probably doesn't have anything to do with how much fuel material you have in the containers that store it for immediate use (reactors, tanks, engines like the H2's) that audio file very likely gets triggered by the amount of time remaining it's capable of running. I'm not sure of this but it makes sense. What does the time left say? I don't think I've ever had my power time left under maybe 2 hours. Try adding a battery or 3 and bring your time left up so it never reads under 5 hours left and see if it still does it.

I suggest adding batteries instead of another reactor or other power source because batteries will cooperate with the reactors and charge or discharge as needed and balance the power consumption a bit. If you add enough batteries to power the ship so you can turn the reactors off you'll be able to only turn the reactors on to charge the batteries and have uranium last longer.

Hey, Mouthpiece, do you want to tell us exactly where this is in the priority queue? How far has it moved up in the last year? Last two years? Last five years? How many people need to vote on it before it goes to the top of the priority queue and gets fixed?

Here's another question: how many dozen DLCs are we going to see in 2020 and still not have basic issues like this fixed?

@tyger_plays

The report is in my first post, tho there are other similar in if you use the Portal search tool

and this bug report got a reaction mark on it > Considered < and that means the SE programmer will fix later cause he is working on the ones reaction marked as > In Progress < first.

For DLCs = I don't know cause I am not a Dev but go use the Portal search tool to find Vote Feedbacks where all can vote on = the SE programmer will/may add to the game the ones that are the most wanted.

Indeed, I'm getting "NO FUEL" when all I've got is solar panels and some batteries near 20% charge. They are not out of charge, nor are they full...kind of in the middle. (I tried this with the reactor partly deconstructed and fully functional but not fueled. Got the same result in both cases.)

So, a perfectly good ship is continuously triggering this warning. No wonder players are irritated by it.
