Hydro thrusters need a hydrogen tank. The o2 genny will convert ice to hydrogen and fill the tank.
For me its best to have a tank on the small craft, with a snglr o2 genny for emergancy.
Then you produce hydrogen at your base with the large o2 genny because its much quicker. Dock and refuel.
Maybe look into doing an atmo(for planet) or ion(for space) build and using batteries. The range can be hetter than hudro wich is more suited to getting into orbit because its the only thruster that works well anywhere :)
What if i place o2 bottles and ice in its hydrogen tank?
Only optuon is build a small grid o2 genny on it plumbed into the hydro tank and feed it ice :)

Check if all of them aren't working or just some of them. If it's all of them, check H2 supply, thrusters on/off, inertia dampers on/off. If some are working, individually check if the thrusters are on/off, individually check ammount of H2 in tanks, make sure all thrusters are connected with conveyors and that all thrusters are functional (welded above red line). Maybe they're all work ing as intended, but you're still falling; likely means not enough thrusters.
Also, make sure the power gauge isn't in the red (shouldn't be for a hydrogen fueled ship since they use so little power); that can cause all sorts of grief.
They only turn on when i connect to my other ship, but turn off when i disconnect
Now i'm flying my ship with a random connector stuck on the back of it, that's my only option, at least the oxygen generator is still attached to it so i don't run out of fuel
I´ve a Truck to do this with Dumps in Rockets, Stations and more. Collect Ice in Containers, build any Valves around the Containers and refill anytime the Servecetruck with integrated O2Generators on the Valves. Connect after Refuel the Truck with your Rocket.
You need O2Generators in the Ship with your Hydroengine, Tanks and Thrusters.
the engines do not turn on unless i'm connected to something via connectors
Dang it, forgot about stockpile; that would definitely cause that kind of issue.
About the action groups, you can use them as long as they're named after the ship they're associated with. For example, if you have a ship called "Hauler", you could name the batteries "Hauler - Battery x". That way, they won't get mixed up even when docked.
