If you're still learning the mechanics of the game, do the scenarios.
After that focus on mining some stone - the new survival kit block can grind rock to some basic ingots in small amounts - so fill it with stone - then make ingots from the productoin tab.
Imho the 2-3 very first blocks you should place on the lander are 2-3 more medium storage - so you can have enough cargo space for stone and ingots/parts to work with. at this point you might consider adding few solar panels onto the pod - to provide some extra power to it (usually at this point it can get low on power so it doesnt hurt and is quite cheap).
After that start a small base (basiaclly basic assembler, basic refinery, a cargo box - battery and some power sources like wind 2-4+ turbines/panels in order to make some parts that cant be made in survival kit itself (like small tubes/power cells etc). You can make it bare bones like 6 blocks -3 armour blocks and on them a battery, basic assembler and basic refinery (if you wish).
after that you should start mining some normal ores and process those - this is usually the point when mining stone via hand becomes a boring task. and you either transform your pod to a rover or continue mining via hand (making flying ship at this point might be still to costly due to hynderds of motors neeeded).
also you can make that simple base - right inside ore vein - to process the ores right there on the spot - aka it reduces travel times considerably - that is smth i usually do - aka its cheap and very helpfull. you can attach small grid battery via rotor - to provide power (but not waste too many power cells) - and if the power runs out - grind the battery and replace it for more power. - i find such mobile refining sites to be very usefull at this stage (esp where the iron is being mined early on).
After that you have to choices - either establish full blown base right there - or move out to a better spot (preferably closer to iron or Ice (or other ores that suit you). if you choose to move then decide if you will take the initial pod with you or leave it there. if you want to take it
after that - settle when you want and proceed to prosper.aka build proper base/mining vechicles etc.
But as Darkaiser said there are a few nice recent youtube vids that help you with the humble beginnings of survival. But the ones that work are not always easy to find as there is a lot of old and outdated tutorials on youtube as well.
I can tell you how to make first pod fly comfortably in 5 minutes. Fly to space right after. And how to make 100k iron, nickel, silicon within like 30min with almost no sweat. There might be not much game left for you after. Are you for game or solution?
So could you focus your own question? What's your exact issue - learning that survival module can process stone and game has tech progression tree? That you still need refinery and assembler? Or some programming issues with advanced tasks?
Planetary starts with pirates - Quickly strap a camera to the front of the combat ship, immediately fly out to ~1km from the pirate outpost nearby. Fire off a missile volley at the attack drone that will probably be spawned at that point to disable it. Move to ~800m from station and take out the nearest turret, then the antenna on top, then the beacon underneath it, then rotate around until you can see the missile turret on the other side and disable that. Then you can land on the outpost platform and grind out the blocks on top that support the two internal turrets so they drop to the floor.. and now you're started.
Easiest - start off in space, just mining asteroids.
More Challenging - start off in space, with just a junky little ship with only the basics installed.
Very Challenging - start off in space, with just your space suit - and capture or find your first ship to survive.
Other settings to make things more or less challenging are in the Advanced options tab. Drones, more difficult. Etc.
Then, you can play on planets. VERY different experience than playing in space, and in many ways, more challenging.
The real answer is: Jump in, try it, find questions, look up online for answers.
There's a definite learning curve to this game. Can't give you all the answers, because we don't know what questions you have, yet.
