Is there any way to lower the graphics even more?
My rig is very old, and to my suprise I can run SE 40 fps with asteroids. But there is one problem. After expanding my ships etc I get stutters and constant crashes. Sometimes they are out of memory errors, sometimes graphic driver crash, and some are unspecified.
On an empty world I spawned an earthlike planet with 19km diameter. I could land etc but after 15 minutes I get a crash. Same goes with moons and other planets. So my question is: is there any way to lower the graphics even more than normally?

There are ways, but it would be a royal PITA to fiddle around with since they removed the f12 dev mode UI. You would have to go into the games sbc files and see what else you can disable or reduce. Reloading the game each time.

If you use an Nvidia grafik card you can use the Nvidia inspector to mess arround with many many many different settings.

Ah thanks. I remember there was an option to change renderer in older version of SE. Now in the config file I see you can change it. Thanks for the help

I'm kinda familiar with Environment.sbc . I changed maximum speed in it.

I have a feeling this game works much better now and eats less ram. Before it ate about 90% (I have 4 gigs) and now it eats about 60%. Same goes with my CPU. Thank you so much for help!

Can you elaborate which values to fiddle with and how much to put ? i have a very old rig Core i5 3470 GTX 660 Ti with only 8GB RAM ... i heard horror stories running this game from those with very expensive rigs and im afraid i wont be able to play this properly.
