Work in a completely different program painting and building the scenario (AKA The Creation Kit) This should allow you to make Star Systems, Maps, Buildings and Chats etc.
Start a brand new map in creative and start building.
Here is how to use the ''antenna with drones feature'' and how to create enemy factions :

I take advantage of those features to create missions where the reward is a Unique ship(s) and/or station(s).
I have two Workshop items that will have a ''Part 2'' and maybe more
I'll explain to you how you can make scripted missions with no programming required that will be better than just throwing a bunch of random grids in a world, some scripts in a PB and calling it a scenario :P
No offence to those that make these its just they aren't really a proper RPG scripted mission/campaign like Escape from Mars is.
Its a bit of a hedache to use but maybe with some help from stollie you can knock something up :)
- Functioning Jump Gates with warp graphic and sound
- Respawn with the best tools you have collected in game so far instead of default tools
- Hotkey to set first 4 slots on hotbar to best tools you have in inventory
- Hotkey to return you to the last place you died
- Spawning of Enemy Drones with AI that can shoot fixed weapons, (vanilla and modded) in a random pattern tha will hunt the player
- Make grids immune to damage or grinding while using rotor subgrid tricks to make other parts damageable (good for forcing player on foot or avoiding them blowing things up while they destroy turrets
- Event call on those same turrets being destroyed making the grid editable/destroyable afterwards
- A space battle between two corvettes and 12 mini drones per side where the AI targetting is Random, they may go for you, may for for the enemy
- A waypoint driven Boss ship that will patrol and protect a certain area.
- An event that causes a grid to explode if it loses certain blocks or funcitonality.
- A gauntlet type Scenario using underground tunnels lined with weapons you had to complete in X amount of time with an LCD ticking down for you or your ship exploded. If you died you could respawn a new copy of the ship and try again, if you made it, you got to keep the ship :D
Honestly I've done a lot more stuff than that but I'll stop there :P
Space Engineers is a real Sandbox, once you've done playing around and figuring out how everything works you should check out the Escape From Mars scenario on the workshop, it's a good demonstration of whats possible in the game from a Scenario perspective.
I'm currently deep down the rabbit hole making a Scenario that spans planets and moons of the Star System Scenario. Its a LOT of work to make these things by yourself so if you want to join in at some stage I wouldn't say no lol
And I will surelly check the Escape From Mars scenario, thanks.
Maybe some new players will share scenarios in the future.
I wish you a good work Engineers!
Yes, I checked some guides... but alot/all are totaly outdated... Oo
I think its now a game external .bat file to start it.... not sure. The old way was much better...
