How much do you cheat

Is it normal to cheat because I have made a ship with everything required to set up a base in space only to realize that I don''t have the platinum to get the thruster components. I don't feel like making a ship to go get platinum and come back down, I just want to get right to building a large station in space

Hi, yes why not! Tho I prefer to find the resources I need, it's more challenging


For all that don't know:

The cheat is easy to use = Alt + F10 and check the first box on top to enable creative with the Space Master (God mode), close the Space Master window, aim at a container port, hit Shift + F10 to open the items and resources menu, select Platinum and click ''Add to container''

Starting with the ''Respawn Yellow ship'' in sapce = you can grind the thrusters on it to build a small ship drill.

This game is made for cheating, since the developers can't be bothered to properly balance it. Heck, it's even got an "all cheats enabled" mode called Creative Mode.

Cheaty but kinda balanced since it takes a long time to make any decent amount of ore ~10 mins to make 12k of an ore using one Assembler.

So it'll get you through 'small' projects, larger projects you're still going to need a decent miner or a HUGE production station to make the Ore's.

A lot less cheaty than using creative tools though to spawn in large amounts of X though.

rather than cheat ore into being i'd rather engineer a way around said need or find ore myself.

I typically will only cheat to recover losses caused by a glitch. If I don't feel like mining that resource that I need to continue, I just stop playing SE for a bit.

if I want to have a fun challenge survival game probably the only "cheat" I use is Shift + F5 quick save, F5 quick load, other than that, zero cheats

if I just want to do stuff fast, I just play Creative or Survival with Space Master

I don't really consider it cheating, but I like to work out my designs in creative mode first rather than survival. Lately I've even lowered my definition of "survival" to simply "I can use the ship even if I turn creative mode off." The process of gathering resources to build them in survival is, at this point, just a formality to me.

One place I really tried to cheat outright recently with mods was trying to make hydrogen more of a mainstay to get around the annoying problems caused by the three kinds of thrusters only to find more issues that basically boil down to: even if I cheat, hydrogen is worthless to me.

I think I'm better off looking for a cheat that makes ions work in atmosphere instead.

I changed the ratio of Ice to Oxygen / Hydrogen conversion rate from 10 to 100 and doubled the thrust magnitude on them and increased the Inertial Dampening from 1 to 5, Hydrogen thrusters are much more enjoyable now :D

Closest I come to cheating is a few of the mods I'm running in my survival game. Though, pretty soon, I think I may have to copy my stuff over to a fresh world for performance reasons.

Only time I ever load up the game in creative mode anymore really, is if I want to quickly test something.
