Hi, go to Jump Drive block in ship terminal and verify if the Jump distance slider is at 0 or close and move it to Max for a test.

Publish your save on the workshop and paste the item link here if you can't find a solution and I will go in to test/find what is going on.

Jump drives have a minimum distance of 5km. If anything cuts the distance under 5km, you're not jumping, end of story.

Jump drives turn large amounts of power into instant motion. Only fully charged drives can be used for the purpose of jumping. Any fully charged drives will contribute to the jump distance, as needed.
Jump distance depends on power and mass. The more mass you're dragging around, the more power you'll need to make the jump. It's possible to have a mega-massive ship that can't jump with a single drive, as the mass drops the possible distance available down under that 5km minimum.
There's also a slider for distance, when you're set for a 'Blind Jump'. Blind Jumps have no set destination locked, but will attempt to move the craft straight ahead until the drive is out of power, there's an obstruction, or it hits the limit on the slider.

Jump drives also don't allow jumping THROUGH solid matter (voxels, including planets, asteroids, and pieces of asteroids). Jump drives also have issues trying to go through Safe Zone bubbles. Think of it as a cross between warp drive and teleporting: If you can make the journey in a straight line, you can *poof* there.

One thing you can also do is check the jump settings for each drive you have and check to see if one of them has a set destination loaded in. I've done that once or twice when I had a drive for going one place and a drive for emergencies. It might be trying to jump to the destination which your sitting within 5km of.

I got the same message 2 days ago in the Learning to survive scenario when I swtiched to "Blind jump" = the distance slider was at 0 and I noticed only by verfying after the message saying "jump too short".

Found out what was wrong i think it's a bug, basically jump-drive was on a ship gifted to me (transfer ownership), once i switched it to "share with everyone" it started to work (i tried all other suggestions including slider to max distance in fact that's first thing i tried. anyway none of those helped but it's resolved now) and yes i was in empty space.. etc.. tried different bookmarks tried blind jump in diff directions etc..

If you think it's a bug = send the important data with steps to reproduce the bug directly to the ones working on the game.

Report directly to the SE Programmers so they can chat with you if needed.

Support Portal = https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc
(create "Bug report" or "Request help"(Private) or "Feedback"(Petition) on the Portal)

You may use the Support Email to report if you prefer :
Email = support@keenswh.com

Here is the important Data you must add in your report to help the SE programmer before they ask you :

I will add :

You may share the world settings and the ship Blueprint on the Workshop with STR so all can try to reproduce the bug and confirm it is one that can be reproduce following your STR.

STR = Steps To Reproduce a bug
