xbox 1 controller not working

i got the game bec it was suposed to support xbox controller but i cant get it to work with the xbox 1 controller it keeps saying xbox 360 controller how do i get it to work for the xbox 1 controller

Hi, all members having problem with Xbox controller said it was Steam input problem, here is the solution shared by members, try this :

" Okay looks like I determined the issue and while didn't play yet the menu was working well.

Seems like its an issue with the Steam Input - I set it to Forced Off and now Space Engineers not only detected it was an Xbox One controller but all buttons were working. "

I never use controller but it's probably in "General Controller Setting" in Steam settings.

1 - I would unplug the controller.

2 - Disable in Steam controller settings (so force off)

3 - Open the game and test with controller pluged in.

I may also go delete the SE CFG file to reset all to default, for another test if needed.

In your Steam library right click on "Space Engineers" in your game list, select "Properties", on the left select "controller".

There should be a drop down list where you can turn steam input off.
