I am American. MPH
I am an american so we have to do everything different. lol. Drive on a different side and so on. But my question is, is there a way to change KM to miles. And ms to MPH. So me and people like me can have a better idea. Thanks

The max in game speed of 100 m/s figures out to about 224 MPH

Off the top of my head, no. But we are taught both forms of measurements. So, I'll just list off a few of the measures as an example

10 Meters per second is equal to 36 kilometers per hour or 22.36 miles per hour
25 Meters per second is equal to 90 kilometers per hour or 55.9 miles per hour.

Are we suppose to learn how to do this on the fly? Nope. But that's why most cars come with speedometers listing both.

In a general sense, that's not going to happen. There isn't a mod for it either that I can find.

On the flip side, the metric system is a little busted the way it is. I had a debate about 3 years ago that someone did not want to see 1,000 km but 1Mm (one million meters) which I think would be proper metric but nobody would ever use.

In Elite: Dangerous pilots use Mm for judging distances when traveling at FTL speeds inside a solar system

I'm from 'Merica, too, and I just learn to deal with SI units.

Would be best to simply switch to thinking in metrics. It's actually easier and quite preferable for engineers. I mean, it's quite handy when your units are powers of ten and you can simply move the decimal point and add/remove zeroes when calculating with them...

Of course, there is the real *initial* difficulty of grasping intuitively the "how much is that" of stuff when you have dealt in feet and miles all your life. Is "40 meters per second" fast or slow? Well, your rover flipped, didn't it? And no wonder because at 40 m/s you were cruising off-road in uneven terrain at 90 mph. Which does sound a bit reckless, doesn't it? :steamhappy:

A quick calculation trick to convert from meters per second to miles per hour that you can do in your head is: "Double the value and add ten percent"

It's not exact but it's good enough and easy to use.

I think there is a mod that converts it .
