Wind turbine
I have just started the game... I have built wind turbines to start with in my base however after I return to the game... I cannot make any more because none of the wind turbines will spin and work...
Anyone have a answer for this problem?

One of the common issues seen with new players and wind turbines is... placing them above, and not actually on/part of the grid that needs powering. Look at the little light at the top of the windmill. A green light is GOOD. A yellow would indicate that there's nothing for the windmill to power (it's not actually connected to anything). Red indicates that the windmill has been shut OFF for some reason. (The 'Y' key is a dangerous thing sometimes, as it shuts off ALL power sources, including windmills, solar panels, and batteries)

When placing a windmill, you'll learn to watch for that moment when a block 'snaps' into position when it touches an existing grid.

Similar viewpoint to Buzzard but wanted to add : I've seen players put wind turbines on asteroids (no air) and Moon (no air). Also, if your base is mobile, wind turbines only work when on a grid that touches ground.

Derp. I had forgotten about those little bits. It's been a while since I've even had to think about windmill placement, since it's just another 'automatic' thing at this point. ...not that I've ever wondered why my monster-craft/base thing had the windmills stop working while I moved it. Nope, never, not me... more than twice, anyways.

Also, it's only Earthlike's Moon that has no atmosphere. The other two moons, Europa (mars) and Titan (alien) have some sort of atmosphere, even if they're pretty much non-breathable.

There is also that other possibility: Are you playing with weather on? Because Wind Turbines really like getting hit by lightning which can damage them enough to no longer work. If that's the problem the only real solution is to have redundancies or turn weather off. Well there is the .. erm .. solution of underground wind-powered bases too but that's kinda silly.

Hi, I got a similar "Bug" 2 days ago and I had to delete and redo to fix.

+
I am tracking this bug now and I need the "Bugged" save to do more testing, so you can share it if you want to help me.

>> How to publish a world save :

1 - Select your save.

2 - Click the "Publish" button on the left.

3 - Choose a proper Tag or skip all and click the OK button.

4 - Your world will be uploaded to Steam Workshop.

5 - Share the Workshop item link here.

Oh! Make sure you save with your character in front of the bug before publishing/sharing the save.

Seems not related to the OPs problem and I recommend to create a new discussion because this one is getting old (+3 months of inactivity = locked)
